Goodness me I am back......................

Gosh it is ages since I done anything here so here goes.....still spinning, still on Committee at the Vic Guild and still enjoying both...
Lately I have been doing more spinning than knitting but still manage to knit a little every night. Yesterday I joined Vic Guild girls Yarn Bombing down at Fed Square, I was demonstrating spinning and Les was weaving. It was a good day with many cards given out to advertise the Guild in their new rooms. The new rooms are proving very sucessful with lots of new members signed up and sales in the Gallery increasing every day except when I am on duty
as last Friday when the sales amounted to $2.oo.
Well I will go now and Thank my daughter Emma for getting my page up and running again I shall be back soon.

How quickly time passes...............

Here it is May already and I feel I havn't acheived half of what I wanted to this year. Still slow and steady wins the race they say, I have finished another sock and ready to start the mate I am also ready to start a beret from a pattern I got of Ravelry. I have managed to spin some light grey handspun wool to do it in so I shall hopefully get started this week.
We have just celebrated Mothers Day this week end and I had a wonderful day, we were picked up by our Son who then drove us to our daughters 2 hours away where we had a beautiful roast Lamb dinner with all the trimmings followed by Brandy Baskets filled with mixed berries and cream. It was a lovely day.
Guild wise we are coming up to our A G M next Saturday so it will be interesting to see who will put their hands up.. I shall let you know.
Well I must away now I want to wash some wool ready for spinning.
See you soon...............

BANYA BIAMI.................

Have just been away to a camp at Banya Biami in the Brisbane Ranges (Vic) where we sleep in concrete water tanks, eat delicous food and just do our thing.....My thing was dyeing wool wool with the help of Carmel, Each skein was measured out in twenty foot lenghts then divided into four and then dyed four different colour. It was a really rewarding 2 1/2 days I have never enjoyed a work shop so much. Now all I have to do is work out what to do with it all.
I also managed to finish a pair of socks that I had started before I broke my arm so I came home feeling I had really acheived. Photos to follow...

Parcel in the post.....

I have posted my parcel of to Ashley in Georgia and I do hope she likes all the things I purchased for her. It was great fun shopping for some one else.
Today I am busy baking as this week end is the Geelong Handweavers and Spinners group annual get away.... We go off to Banya Biami which is up in the bush and we talk, laugh and workshop....should be a good week end.and then we sleep in old water tanks which are really very warm and comfortable. I need to leave some home baking for my hubby and have some to take with me for our suppers....It is lovely to have some one else to do the cooking and the cleaning up even if it is only for a week end.
We are also waiting to hear from our Son who has gone of to Gallipoli for the Anzac day celebrations and he will hopefully meet up with his daughter whilst over there....all very exciting. I shall catch up on my return.

How time flies............

Time does seem to be passing me by, the wrist is still no better and I am limited in what I can do...I saw the specialist last week and he wants to see it again in 8 weeks time when he will take another x-ray and see where we go from there.....In the mean time the socks started in January are still on the needles allthought I do hope to get them of this week end.
He did say to knit as it is good therapy but I can only manage about 20 minutes a day. Anway I shall continue to plod along.
I am taking part in a swap on Ravelry so that is exciting shopping for treats to send to my swappee in Georgia and I should get them posted on Monday.
Well I must away now I do hope to post a little more often in the future.

In Trouble........................

Well what does any true blue Aussie lady do to celebrate Australia Day in January? Have a game of cricket of course and that is how this old girl ended up with her right arm plastered from finger to elbow and now has to spend the next 6 weeks watching the world go by....I am so cross with myself ............ so the socks are still on the needles and the 1 1/2 bobbins of wool sit waiting to be finished.
I shall be back as soon as the plaster is removed and in the meantime I shall fill my time reading and checking out what every one else is doing...
